If you are going to work with protected Excel files stored on a network device, please configure the Trust center in your Excel options. This way, excel will work without doing trust checks and will not be slow.
Access to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Trusted Location and mark “allow trusted locations on my networks”.
